Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know before your appointment. Can’t find an answer? Ceri will be glad to help.

Appointments & referrals

Do I need a GP referral to be seen?

Not necessarily. You are welcome to refer yourself, although a referral from your GP can be helpful and may be required by some insurers.

Most patients are offered an appointment within 48 hours of getting in touch, with urgent cases prioritised where needed.

Simply call the team, send an enquiry through the website, or complete the appointment request form, and your booking will be confirmed directly.

Treatment & recovery

Not always. Mr Woodward will assess your symptoms fully and recommend the most appropriate option, which may include monitoring or non-surgical treatment before surgery is considered.

Recovery time varies by procedure, typically ranging from a few days to a few weeks. Mr Woodward will give you a personalised recovery plan before you leave hospital.

Procedures are usually carried out at Nuffield Health The Vale or Nuffield Health Cardiff Bay Hospital, with the exact location confirmed when your treatment is booked.
